Rehydration IV Bookings Are Picking Up in Nanaimo as Fall Approaches
Rehydration IV therapy puts fluids, electrolytes, and vitamins straight into your bloodstream, which is why it works faster than a bottle of water and a nap. Here at Hyndford Hydration, we have noticed more Nanaimo clients booking it lately, mostly for two reasons: they got home from a trip feeling like a wrung-out dishcloth, or they are quietly bracing for the return of school, daycare, and the general chaos that comes with September. School isn't back yet, but anyone who's lived through a few Septembers in Nanaimo already knows what is coming. Here is what actually helps, and what to expect if you book a mobile IV session with us.

Talk to a Nurse Before You Book
Every session starts with one of our nurses reviewing your health history, current medications, and what you're hoping to get out of the visit. If you are not sure whether it is even worth booking, just message us. We would rather ask a couple of questions upfront than have you try to figure it out on your own.
Pick the Infusion That Actually Fits
Not all "depleted" feels the same, so the right infusion depends on what actually happened to you. If you are just plain dehydrated from travel, Island Hydration, our straightforward saline base, usually does the job. If you feel more like you got hit by a bus than just thirsty, Pacific Reset is often the better call; it uses Lactated Ringer's along with magnesium and B-complex vitamins. And if you are on the mend from an illness, once your fever has actually broken and your appetite has taken a hit, Cedar Shield combines fluids with vitamin C, B-complex vitamins, and B12 to help you catch back up. All of these live on our Signature Infusion Menu if you want to see exactly what is in each one before you book.

A Few Things That Make Your Session Easier
Try to drink some water beforehand if you can manage it, and eat a light snack so you are not starting on an empty stomach; that alone cuts down on feeling lightheaded once the line is in. Wearing something with loose sleeves helps too, since it makes finding a good vein a lot less fiddly for your nurse.
What Actually Happens During Your Appointment
Your nurse gets the IV line in and runs the infusion slowly, usually somewhere between 30 and 60 minutes depending on what you have chosen. Since we come to you, that half hour to an hour can happen on your own couch, in a hotel room, or at your desk, instead of a waiting room chair flipping through a two-year-old magazine.

Once You Are Done
Keep drinking water afterward and pay attention to how you actually feel over the next day or two. Some people notice a difference almost right away; others take a bit longer to feel it. You will receive an email with after-care directions, and we are available by phone, text or email with any follow-up questions.
Why It's Beneficial: We Come to You in Nanaimo
We hear time and again how amazing it is that we come to your home, hotel, workplace, etc. Especially for those feeling under the weather, having someone come to you is less draining than having to go to them. Workplace visits are available too, either as a one-off or as part of a set-up wellness offering for a whole team. Whoever your nurse is that day, they are an LPN or RN working under medical oversight and an established medical directive, so you are getting proper care, just wherever you happen to be in the city and beyond.
