Frequently asked questions
The honest answers to what people ask before they book.
Before you book
Is mobile IV therapy safe?
Yes. Licensed nurses provide all treatments in accordance with British Columbia nursing standards. We use sterile, single-use equipment, conduct pre-treatment assessments, and monitor clients throughout each session. All therapies are administered under a valid medical directive from a nurse practitioner.
Do I need a prescription?
Yes. All IV and IM therapies are provided under a medical order. We work with a nurse practitioner who has developed a comprehensive health assessment process. Most clients are cleared through the online questionnaire without delay. Some health conditions require additional NP review before treatment is approved, and we will let you know if that applies to you.
Who can receive IV or IM therapy?
IV and IM therapy is available to adults aged 19 and over following completion of a health assessment. Some medical conditions, including certain cardiac or renal conditions, may limit eligibility for specific treatments. Our team reviews each submission carefully to ensure safety.
Will someone with a needle phobia be okay?
Our nurses are experienced in gentle insertion techniques and distraction methods. Let us know about your concerns when booking and we will do everything we can to help you feel at ease before anything happens.
Booking and cost
How much does it cost?
Each therapy is offered at a transparent, flat-rate price listed on our Signature Infusions page. Standard travel within Nanaimo city limits is included. Appointments outside this area are subject to a travel fee, confirmed with you before you book.
How do I book and prepare?
Click "Our Signature Infusions" then "Reserve" on our site, complete the quick health questionnaire, select your treatment, and choose your preferred time slot. Please drink a glass of water beforehand and have a light snack unless instructed otherwise.
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept Visa and Mastercard through our client portal via Stripe, as well as e-transfer. A deposit is required at booking and is credited toward your balance. Invoices are available in your client portal.
What if I need to cancel or change my appointment?
You can change or cancel up to 24 hours before your appointment without penalty. Cancellations within 24 hours incur a 50% fee. No-shows are charged in full. Wedding and event bookings follow a separate cancellation policy, so ask us for details when you book.
Is there a travel fee for appointments outside Nanaimo?
Standard travel within Nanaimo, Lantzville, and Cedar is included in the price of your treatment. Appointments outside that area are subject to a travel fee.
The fee depends on where you are, and for wedding, event, and group bookings it is quoted as part of your package. In every case we confirm the amount with you before your booking is finalised, so nothing is added to your invoice that you have not already agreed to. Contact us for a quote.

Do you accept insurance?
We are currently an out-of-pocket service. In some cases clients submit receipts to their extended health benefits provider for reimbursement. Please check with your insurer, as coverage varies.
During your visit
What should I expect during my appointment?
Our nurse arrives with all necessary supplies, confirms your treatment, checks your vital signs, and administers the infusion or injection you have chosen. Most treatments last between 20 and 90 minutes depending on the service selected. You do not need to do anything except sit comfortably.
Are there any side effects?
Most clients tolerate IV and IM therapy well. Common mild effects may include a cool sensation during infusion or minor tenderness at the injection site. Less commonly, some individuals experience lightheadedness, nausea, or flushing. Our nurses monitor you throughout the session and are trained to respond to any adverse reactions.
How does Hyndford Hydration ensure my privacy?
Our team arrives in everyday attire, with no scrubs and no branded clinical equipment visible from outside. Discreet service is a deliberate choice. Your home stays your home. Your health stays your business.
Our service
What is included in the service?
Our mobile service includes nursing assessment, administration of the selected treatment, monitoring throughout your visit, and post-treatment guidance. All supplies and standard travel within Nanaimo city limits are included.
What types of IV therapies do you offer?
We offer a focused menu including hydration, vitamin-based support, antioxidant infusions, and recovery-focused treatments. Each service is delivered by a licensed nurse and tailored based on your health assessment and individual needs.
Can I add on services during my session?
Yes. Additional treatments can be added when clinically appropriate, administered by your nurse during the same visit. Add-on options are listed on our Signature Infusions page.
Why are your infusion volumes smaller than some other clinics?
By design. Most wellness clients do not need a litre of fluid. They need the right nutrients delivered efficiently in a timeframe that does not take over their day. Keeping volumes targeted means most infusions reach therapeutic concentrations within an hour rather than being diluted across a large bag. If a full 1,000mL is genuinely what you need, we offer it.
Is Hyndford Hydration available outside Nanaimo?
We provide mobile services in Nanaimo, Lantzville, and Cedar as standard. We also travel further afield, including Parksville and Qualicum, Duncan and the Cowichan Valley, and Victoria. Appointments outside our standard area are subject to a travel fee, which is confirmed with you before your booking is finalised. Contact us for a quote.
How often can I receive treatments?
Frequency limits vary by therapy. Each service description on our Signature Infusions page includes maximum dosing guidance. If you are unsure, ask your nurse at your appointment.
Weddings and events
Do you offer wedding and event bookings?
Yes. We offer mobile IV and IM packages for wedding parties, pre-wedding celebrations, bachelorette and bachelor weekends, corporate events, and group gatherings. We come directly to your hotel, Airbnb, venue, or home. Packages start from $999 for groups of 4. A $99 booking fee secures your date. Bookings outside Nanaimo, Lantzville, and Cedar are subject to a travel fee, quoted with your package. Contact us at [email protected] or (250) 618-5777.
What is the cancellation policy for weddings and events?
More than 3 weeks before your event: supply deposit refunded in full, $99 booking fee retained. Between 1 and 3 weeks: supply deposit retained to cover supplies already ordered, booking fee retained. Less than 1 week: 50% of total package price applies as a cancellation fee. If your date changes unexpectedly, contact us as early as possible and we will do everything we can to find a solution.
Can you accommodate group bookings?
Yes. We accommodate groups for wellness days, celebrations, corporate events, and weddings. Groups of 5 or more require two nurses. Each participant completes an individual health questionnaire and receives their own nursing assessment before treatment. Not every service is appropriate for every person, so participation is based on individual clinical assessment rather than group membership.
